Meet the Team
Roopa Sounderraman
With 14 years in education and over a decade in marketing and resume writing, Roopa brings a unique mix of strategy, storytelling, and student-centred guidance.
Before founding SetSail, she led the College Counselling team at an international school in Singapore, helping students gain admission to leading universities worldwide. She’s certified in College Counselling by UCLA and Teacher’s College, Columbia University.

With two decades of work experience spanning banking, writing and college counselling, Samyukta has co-founded SetSail with a a mission to help students bring their stories to life and find their perfect-fit universities.
From researching global admission trends to guiding students through essays and applications, she blends strategy with creativity at every step.
Certified in College Counselling from UCLA, Samyukta has helped students across diverse interests—from Engineering to the Arts—secure spots at top global universities.
